Our Services

We will meet, often weekly, for 53-minute sessions.

The following are examples of issues people seek counseling for through Embrace

Do not let this limit you

New Baby, Postpartum and Breastfeeding

I get the struggle, the ambivalent feelings of joy, doubt, and anxious uncertainty. I understand that the last thing you, as a tired mother, want to do is come to (online) therapy, but it can be so helpful!  Especially if you suspect postpartum depression, struggle with scary thoughts, or lots of anxiety, please do not hesitate to reach out. You are not supposed to feel this way, and you will feel better again!

Relationship Struggles

Working on your relationships in individual counseling may entail deep reflections on how our behaviors, beliefs, and attitudes influence these relationships and learning what is in our control to feel more fullfilled.

Menopause

Aging can come with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, mood swings, and feeling chronically overwhelmed. It may come with memory loss, weight gain, and sleepless nights. Often this is a time where we raise teens or care for elderly parents. In short, a mental rollercoaster that needs care and a holistic approach.

Abusive Relationships

How can smart, strong individuals be trapped in emotional, financial, verbal, and even physically abusive relationships? Let's explore your options and work towards a more authentic life together. Many have gone before you...

Men

While my work seems to focus on women's issues and my practice is gender affirmative, I welcome men of all ages! I like working with male-specific issues and invite you to reach out for individual counseling.

Blended Families

It may look so romantic, blending families with a new partner. In reality, dealing with different parenting and communication styles, co-parenting with your ex, grief and loss of what was, the financial puzzles, or children who cannot get along..... It can be a challenge! In counseling, you can process your hopes, frustrations, and ambivalent feelings. Explore the steps you can take towards a stronger family unit.

Past Trauma

Sometimes, we seek counseling to gain awareness of what has been holding us back in certain areas of our lives. When we are ready to face the things we have been stuffing away for too long, and how they affect our current situation, we can experience true freedom, healing, and peace.

Life Transitions

A move, a new job, that promotion with responsibilities, the loss of a spouse, going to college?  Whatever your big transition is, it can be full of new opportunities and feel overwhelming at the same time. Let's explore your new life together.

Divorce

Whether you are contemplating leaving but don't know how, you are in the middle of the legal battle, or you are trying to build your life after the separation, this is a time of reflection, deep emotions and diving into who you are without your partner.

Parenting Challenges

Parenting the terrible two's, self-esteem in middle school, opinionated teens, or balancing the dynamics of blended families, parenthood can be a gauntlet of mixed emotions. Let's talk.

Couples Counseling

I believe that any romantic relationship can benefit from couples counseling! Improving communication, learning how to resolve disagreements, expressing our needs, and understanding how our own issues (from the past) manifest in our relationship... In couples counseling, our goal is greater connection, understanding, and learning new skills.
